Dear New Students,
Welcome to the HSUHK family! I would like to express my heartiest congratulations to you embarking on a new learning journey at HSUHK.
The theme of this year’s New Student Orientation Series is “起恒 WeBound”, with the aim to help you leap forward, spread your wings and grow strong. Our teachers, staff and fellow students will walk alongside with you offering support and guidance to help you push boundaries, tackle new challenges, and realize your potentials to the fullest. I encourage you to make the most of the learning opportunities and resources at HSUHK, such as overseas exchanges, internships, service learning, art and sports activities, getting involved in student associations, residential college life, etc. These experiences will enrich your university life, widen your global perspective, and help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your core values.
As a private liberal-arts-oriented university, HSUHK adopted a unique “Liberal + Professional” education model with quality teaching and students’ all-round development as our highest priorities. Through diversified learning experiences, we aim to nurture future leaders with critical thinking, innovative minds, human caring, moral values and a sense of social responsibility, who could handle future work and life challenges confidently and lead a rewarding life.
Well begun is half done. I believe that with your proactiveness and open-mindedness, you will have an enriched university life experience.

今年恒大迎新的主題是「起恒 WeBound」，寄望各位新生於恒大起行，展翅成長。恒大的教職員及同學將與各位新生同行，樂意在你們的學習過程中提供支援與指導，協助你們突破界限、應對新挑戰、盡展潛能。我鼓勵你們善用恒大的資源和學習機會，例如海外交換生計劃、工作實習、服務學習、文藝體活動、參與學生組織的工作及住宿書院體驗等。這些經歷將豐富你們的大學生活、拓闊你們的世界觀、加深自我認識及建立你的核心價值。

WeBound @HSUHK
It is my utmost pleasure to welcome you all to the HSUHK family.
After hosting our orientation series online for the past two years, we are elated to finally welcome all new students on campus.
The theme of this year’s orientation series is “WeBound”, which symbolises that faculty members and staff are here with you to restart and regroup. The University provides endless opportunities for you to learn more about the HSUHK community and our rich campus resources on the new student orientation website. Chances are infinite but time is limited. You must also learn to be decisive and identify priorities and seek the learning opportunities that are most suitable for you so you can enjoy your life as a university student without regrets.
“WeBound” means to rebound, forge ahead, and enter a new chapter at HSUHK. The road to success is an uphill struggle and full of uncertainties. But despite the challenges, it is also an opportunity to accumulate experience and build resilience. We are leaping forward with you on your way ahead and aiding you to actualise your dreams.
The path to success is more than the pursuit of academic excellence. It is also a fulfilling process of pursuing self-understanding and continuous self-improvement. Here are a few positive attributes HSUHK students usually possess:

經歷兩年在線上舉行迎新活動，今年我們終可在校園與眾新生會面而感到格外興奮。
本年度的活動主題定為「WeBound起恒」，寓意「恒大」各學系及教職員與你們重整旗鼓，再次起行。大學給予的機會無窮無盡，各同學可以透過迎新網站參閱有關恒大社群的資訊及了解校園內提供的豐富資源。但機會繁多時間有限，你亦必須學會選擇，覓得最適合自己的學習機會，為目標定下優先次序，無悔青春。
「WeBound」含有Rebound、奮勇前進的意思，且將會在「恒大」翻開人生新的一章。然而，往通往康莊大道的路途上總會經歷波折，充滿未知。面對挑戰及考驗的時候，也是累積經驗的機會，讓你們變得堅毅。我們與各位風雨同路，跨向未來，助同學展翅高飛。
